Maison Renaissance

Description

A splendid 15th-century stately townhouse, also known as the Maison du Bailli. It belonged to the Fredureau family, which was in charge of housing the Bailli until the Revolution. Charles Busson, a landscape painter, lived there more recently. The high gates open onto two building complexes and the polygonal tower housing a handsome stone staircase connecting them, and sculpted pediments tower over the windows. There is a coat of arms above one of the tower windows. Guided visit only. Last access 30 minutes before the closure. Animals not allowed.
